The 2025 Volkswagen Taos is a compact SUV with plenty of room for your family and cargo. You can choose between four trim levels, including the SE Black edition, which is designed to turn heads at every corner.

Trim Levels of the 2025 Volkswagen Taos

S

A great choice for families on a budget, the Taos S delivers German craftsmanship at a wallet-friendly price. Under its hood is the same 177-hp engine that powers most of the upper trims, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system is available, so you can easily customize this model for outdoor adventures.

The sporty exterior is enhanced by 17-inch wheels and LED projector headlights with integrated daytime running lights. The interior complements the exterior with cloth seating surfaces and a flexible 60/40 split-folding rear bench design with a center armrest and pass-through.

SE

The SE is perfect for drivers seeking a sportier ride. This model swaps the standard wheels for larger 18-inch alloy wheels, while adaptive front lighting with dynamic cornering lights improves illumination when navigating winding roads. Silver roof rails boost practicality and visual appeal, adding a pop of color while making it easy to install roof racks or carriers.

The interior has stylish CloudTex and cloth seating surfaces and eight-way power-adjustable front seats for added comfort. An auto-dimming rearview mirror and Climatronic Touch dual-zone automatic climate control add convenience.

SE Black

This trim level builds on the SE with exclusive appearance upgrades, including black wheels, black roof rails, and black exterior styling elements. A light bar integrated in the front grille is also standard on this trim, creating a focal point that catches the eye in traffic. A power tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof allows you to add more fresh air to the cabin.

Apart from these differences, this model comes with all the SE’s comfort and tech upgrades, including wireless smartphone integration, remote engine start, front and rear parking sensors, and SiriusXM.

SEL

Offered in standard all-wheel drive, the SEL trim is ready for adventure. Large 19-inch wheels offer impressive balance and outstanding traction on all road surfaces, while selectable drive modes allow you to adjust performance to match various terrains. The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro instrument panel boasts a 10.25-inch display with configurable gauges so you can view the performance metrics most important to you.

Inside, leather seating surfaces give the cabin an upscale feel and pair with ventilated front seats and an upgraded infotainment system with built-in navigation. Ambient lighting makes it easy to set the mood for each journey, while road sign recognition helps you stay within speed limits.
