Engine, Transmission, and Drivetrain
The standard engine in the 2024 Jetta is a 1.5L TSI 16-valve DOHC 4-cyl turbo gasoline engine that produces 158 hp with 184 lbs of torque. You can choose to pair this engine with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission with triptonic. All Jetta trims are FWD and also feature VW’s IQ Drive driver assistance system.
Fuel Economy
Gas prices always seem to go up, which is another reason why a Jetta is a good choice. Its powerful, yet fuel-efficient engine will keep you away from the gas pump for lengthy periods. If you choose the automatic transmission, fuel-efficiency rates are 31 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. The manual transmission option provides 29 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway.
Trim Levels
The 2024 Jetta features four trim levels: the S, Sport, SE, and SEL. Each trim builds on the previous ones and adds additional features. The S trim, for example, has cloth interior seats, an 8″ digital cockpit display, LED headlights and taillights, and 16″ alloy wheels.
The higher trim levels upgrade the wheels to 17″ alloy and add power-adjustable seating, seat heating and ventilation, and many other features. The SE trim replaces the cloth seats with leatherette, and the SEL takes this a step further with leather interior seats.
Technology
Standard infotainment systems include the 8″ digital cluster, a 6.5″ touchscreen display, and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. The infotainment systems can be enhanced to a 10.3″ digital cluster and an 8″ touchscreen, and a 12-speaker sound system can be installed.
Additional comfort features include dual-zone climate control, wireless recharging, Sirius XM, remote engine start, and keyless entry.
Safety Features
Safety is at the forefront of all VW designs. The 2024 Jetta includes a host of information systems to keep you safe and informed of the environment at all times. Electronic stability control, anti-slip regulation, hydraulic braking assist, and a rearview camera are standard. Additional features on all trims include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane assist, pedestrian monitoring, and blindspot monitoring.
