Taking on both regular minivans and the growing pack of three-row electric SUVs is no small task. Most cars would choke on a challenge that massive. But the 2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz isn’t most cars.

4 Innovative Features of the 2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz

1. Exterior Styling

The 2025 ID.Buzz channels the spirit of the old Microbus without doing a copy-and-paste job. It’s still a van, still friendly, still full of charm. You get that iconic V-shaped hood, a big VW badge, playful two-tone color combos, and big wheels pushed all the way out to maximize space inside. It’s the kind of van you want to be seen in. Can’t say that about most minivans, can you?

2. Electric Stuff

Every ID.Buzz comes with a standard 86-kWh battery under the floor. Rear-wheel-drive versions should deliver up to 234 miles per charge; all-wheel-drive models are just behind at 231 miles. Hook it up to a DC fast charger, and it’ll go from 10 to 80% in about 26 minutes. And yes, it’s quick. The torque-rich electric powertrain gets the ID.Buzz from a standstill to 60 mph in just 6 seconds.

3. Practicality

It’s a minivan, so it does what minivans do best: carry lots of people and/or cargo. In passenger mode, the ID.Buzz offers three rows of seating, with an industry-leading third-row legroom that actually makes the back row usable. It fits six or seven people, depending on whether you go with second-row captain’s chairs or a bench.

Switching to maximum cargo mode is simple and quick. Just remove the third row and fold the second-row seat flat. That opens up about 146 cubic feet of space. Also, the 2025 ID.Buzz includes clever storage spots throughout, such as pockets to the left of the steering wheel, a shelf ahead of the front passenger, and dual pop-out bins in the center console (one front and one rear).

4. Interior Features

The flat floor (made possible by the driveshaft-less powertrain underneath) gives the cabin an open, airy vibe right away. And VW made sure the view matched. Up front, the windshield is set far forward and framed by tall wraparound glass, so you feel like you’re part of the scenery, not just passing through it.

VW doesn’t make you climb the trim ladder to get the good stuff. Even in the base Pro S model, you’re treated to heated and ventilated front seats (with massage), a spacious second-row bench, and easy access to the third row. There’s a heated steering wheel, comfy leatherette seats, power sliding doors, sliding second-row windows, and a removable center console.
