Well, here's how much the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 costs.

Starting MSRP by Trim

The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 is currently only available in the Pro, 1st Edition, and Pro S trims. The Pro AWD and Pro S AWD are expected to arrive in the second half of 2021. Here are the starting MSRPs of each trim:

  • Pro - $39,995
  • Pro AWD - $43,675
  • 1st¬†Edition - $43,995
  • Pro S - $44,495
  • Pro S AWD - $48,175

For those that prefer to lease, the 2021 VW ID.4 can be leased for as low as $379 per month on a 36-month lease for those with eligible credit.

Potential Tax Break

For many years now, most EVs (excluding Tesla) have been eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit. For most EV adopters, this has functioned as juicy discount, decreasing the price of the otherwise expensive vehicles by up to 30% of the original MSRP. The IRS has confirmed the 2021 VW ID.4 is eligible for this tax credit. Here are the MSRPs after the tax credit is applied:

  • Pro - $32,495
  • Pro AWD - $36,175
  • 1st Edition - $36,495
  • Pro S - $36,995
  • Pro S AWD - $40,675

Note that these are not final prices, just MSRPs adjusted for the tax credit.

Volkswagen Electric FAQs

How Does Charging Work?

Once you make the switch over to an electric vehicle, you'll need to start thinking in terms of battery charge instead of a full or empty fuel tank. There are a few different ways you can charge your ID.4, and we're here to help you understand how it works.

First, you can choose to charge your ID.4 at home. This SUV comes with an L1 charging cable, and you can opt for an L2 wallbox charger for an even faster charging time.

Your second option is to charge your vehicle at one of the 17,000 plus public chargers nationwide. If you need a little extra juice while you're out and about, these charging stations are a great option.

Finally, the 2021 VW ID.4 comes with three years of complimentary charging at Electrify America DC Fast Chargers, which you can find along most major highways.

Benefits of the VW ID.4 Electric Vehicle

The VW ID.4 is eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. These rates often vary from one driver to another, so when you're in touch with our finance center, they can help you see if you qualify for a tax credit.

When it comes to auto maintenance, electric vehicles generally can cost less to maintain than traditional vehicles as there are fewer moving parts under the hood, and you don't have to worry about certain maintenance services like oil changes.
