Explore the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 EV at Dean Team Volkswagen of Ballwin

The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 has been in high demand here in Ballwin. It has been among the best-selling electric vehicles because of its excellent driving range and upscale features from the interior to the exterior.

What's New for 2023?

Some of the new changes it makes in this new model is the standardization of the auto-hold brake and an improved DC Fast Charging speed. The driving range has also been improved.

Performance Features

The powertrain of this new electric vehicle includes an 82-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that pairs with an electric motor to produce 201 horsepower. If you want to get sufficient horsepower, there is an option of getting two electric motors, which make the horsepower rise to 295. The two electric motors result in an all-wheel-drive system. The battery pack is estimated to provide a driving range of up to 260 miles, which is an improvement over the previous model.

When the battery is low, you can charge the battery using a Level 1 cable, Level 2 charger or a DC Fast Charger in any charging station nearby. The 240-volt charger takes more time than the DC Fast Charger to fully recharge a depleted battery. Its outstanding performance does not only come from its powertrain setup but also its well-tuned suspension and poised handling, which make it able to maneuver on rough terrains and around St. Louis turns swiftly.

It also provides a regenerative braking system that allows one-pedal driving. The regenerative braking system is also designed to recharge the battery pack by taking the forward momentum of the vehicle and converting it into electricity, which also serves to slow it down. The selectable driving modes it offers are Comfort, Eco, Sport and Custom.

The new VW ID.4 has lots of standard features, including road sign recognition. Its rearview camera is helpful when backing up. It gives the driver a good view of the rear part in order to avoid an unnecessary collision. The driveline traction control ensures the vehicle takes maximum advantage of the available traction on the road, mostly in harsh road conditions. Forward collision mitigation, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control are standard, as is the automatic highway driving assist.

The standard touchscreen is a 10-inch display, and there's an optional 12-inch display on higher trims. Both touchscreens offer similar amenities, such as Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth® connection and a navigation system that uses satellite waves to come up with directions. Wireless device charging is also standard. More standard tech features include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a digital gauge cluster, ambient interior lighting and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Volkswagen Electric FAQs

How Does Charging Work?

Once you make the switch over to an electric vehicle, you'll need to start thinking in terms of battery charge instead of a full or empty fuel tank. There are a few different ways you can charge your ID.4, and we're here to help you understand how it works.

First, you can choose to charge your ID.4 at home with an L1 charging cable. In addition, an L2 wallbox charger will result in an even faster charging time.

Your second option is to charge your vehicle at one of the 17,000 plus public chargers nationwide. If you need a little extra juice while you're out and about, these charging stations are a great option.

Finally, the VW ID.4 comes with three years of complimentary charging at Electrify America DC Fast Chargers, which you can find along most major highways.
